Private Guided Tours for Kids and Families Seasonal: June- September

Enjoy an exclusive snorkeling experience with a dedicated guide for your child or small group. We ensure personalized attention and a comfortable pace for all young adventurers. 

High Quality Gear

Forget the hassle of bringing your own gear! We supply everything your child needs for a safe and enjoyable snorkeling tour. Our equipment is clean, well-maintained, and suitable for young participants. Water Shoes, instead of fins, make it easier to enter and exit the water.

Adults and Teens may join the tour but may only be provided with a mask, snorkel and lifejacket.  See booking link for more information.

Marine Education

Our tours include engaging lessons about the diverse marine ecosystem of Lover's Cove, focusing on kelp forests and the incredible variety of fish. We emphasize the importance of ocean conservation and how kids can make a difference in protecting our underwater world.

Safety Measures

Our Safety Measures include:

  • Small Groups - Groups are limited to 4-6 children per guide to include personalized attention and close supervision. 
  • Experienced guide - Your guide has over 20 years experience working with children and tours are tailored to your child's comfort level.
  • Marine Protected Area - The tour takes place in the calm , protected waters of Lover's Cove. 
  • Pre- Snorkel Safety Lesson and check of all equipment before entering the water. 
  • Weather and Ocean Monitoring - Tours are conducted only when weather conditions are suitable for snorkeling.  Tours may be cancelled  if conditions aren't suitable. 

Meet Your Guide

I first came to Catalina over 30 years ago to work a summer job, in which I rented snorkel gear at Lover's Cove, one of the top places to snorkel on Catalina.

I fell in love with the island and the small town community. I eventually became a certified Dive Master. For over 10 years I worked as a kayak and snorkel instructor educating people on the history of Catalina and our unique natural environment.

Jump ahead another 20 years and I am now a local elementary teacher and I have raised two kids here. Lover's Cove Marine Preserve has always had a special place in my heart. I am still an AVID snorkeler and have spent 100s of hours snorkeling here over the years. I am very excited to share this special place with the next generation of young adventurers.
